To enhance the protection of individuals, especially survivors of domestic abuse, from unauthorized remote vehicle access, Nissan North America, Inc. enables individuals to disconnect others from remote access to their Nissan vehicle. This applies to Rogue PHEV vehicles equipped with NissanConnect® Services.
To ask Nissan Assistance to disconnect others from remote access, you must provide the following documentation on the Nissan website:
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for your Nissan vehicle AND
- At least one of the following as proof of legal possession of the
vehicle:
- Vehicle title with your name indicated as owner;
- Vehicle title paired with a lease agreement with your name;
- Dissolution decree, temporary court order, or domestic violence restraining order that awards possession or exclusive use of the vehicle to the driver; or
- Proof of marriage to the owner of the car at the time the car was purchased or leased.
If you are the entitled user of the vehicle and you are a registered user of the Rogue PHEV NissanConnect® Services app, there are some proactive steps you can take to protect yourself.
- Use the Account Settings feature in the mobile app to change your security PIN.
- Use the Account Settings feature in the mobile app to change your password.
If you are the entitled user of the vehicle without access to the Rogue PHEV NissanConnect® Services app, and you are in legal possession of the vehicle:
- Call the Nissan Assistance Center directly at 1-833-717-8374.
- Nissan Assistance will direct you to submit the vehicle VIN and at least one of the above-mentioned required documents as proof of legal possession of the vehicle to the Nissan website.
- Within two (2) business days after receipt of all required documents, if there is a registered user of the Rogue PHEV NissanConnect® Services app, the account will be cancelled (to remove the previous user), thus terminating remote access to all the vehicle’s connected services.
- Customer care will create a new account in the entitled user's name, with a temporary password and security PIN.
- Customer care will provide the account information to the entitled user and provide account access instructions.
- Download the Rogue PHEV NissanConnect® Services app, log in using the instructions provided, and access your newly created account. Then register and pair the vehicle to your mobile phone.
